Bullying and harassment is\n      a behaviour that makes someone feel intimidated or offended. Harassment is\n      unlawful under the Equality Act 2010.\n    <\/p>\n    <p>\n      Workplace bullying and harassing behaviours have a detrimental e\ufb00ect on\n      the Company and its people. Due to these behaviours is created an unsafe\n      working environment, result in a loss of trained and talented staff, cause\n      the breakdown of teams and individual relationships, increase absenteeism\n      and reduce e\ufb03ciency and productivity.\n    <\/p>\n    <p>\n      Examples of bullying or harassing behaviour include, but are not limited\n      to:\n    <\/p>\n    <ul>\n      <li>spreading malicious rumours<\/li>\n      <li>unfair treatment<\/li>\n      <li>picking on or regularly undermining someone<\/li>\n      <li>denying someone&rsquo;s training or promotion opportunities<\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n    <p>\n      The unwanted behaviour is related, indicative and not exhaustive, to one\n      of the following:\n    <\/p>\n    <ul>\n      <li>age<\/li>\n      <li>sex<\/li>\n      <li>disability<\/li>\n      <li>gender reassignment<\/li>\n      <li>marriage and civil partnership<\/li>\n      <li>pregnancy and maternity<\/li>\n      <li>race<\/li>\n      <li>religion or belief<\/li>\n      <li>sexual orientation<\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n    <p>Bullying and harassment can happen:<\/p>\n    <ul>\n      <li>face-to-face<\/li>\n      <li>by letter<\/li>\n      <li>by email<\/li>\n      <li>by phone<\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n    <p>This Policy applies to behaviours that occur:<\/p>\n    <ul>\n      <li>\n        In connection with work, even if it occurs outside normal working hours;\n      <\/li>\n      <li>During work activities, for example, when dealing with clients;<\/li>\n      <li>\n        At work related events and functions, for example, at Christmas parties;\n        and\n      <\/li>\n      <li>On social media platforms where staff members interact.<\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n    <p>\n      The Company recognises that workplace bullying may involve comments and\n      behaviours that o\ufb00end some people and not others. The Company accepts that\n      individuals may react di\ufb00erently to certain comments and behaviour. That\n      is why a minimum standard of behaviour is required of all staff members.\n      This standard aims to be respectful of all staff. This Policy applies to\n      all staff members including employees, contractors, associates, trainees\n      and volunteers.\n    <\/p>\n\n    <p>\n      <strong\n        >What employees should do if they&rsquo;re bullied or harassed<\/strong\n      >\n    <\/p>\n    <p>\n      Employees should see if they can sort out the problem informally first. If\n      they cannot, they should talk to:\n    <\/p>\n    <ul>\n      <li>Their Manager\/Supervisor;<\/li>\n      <li>The Human Resources (HR) Department;<\/li>\n      <li>The Trade Union representative (if applicable).<\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n    <p>\n      Complaints of bullying, harassment and workplace violence will be taken\n      seriously and will be handled immediately. If any of the employees make a\n      complaint of workplace bullying, harassment or violence it will be taken\n      seriously and will be dealt with sympathetically and in a con\ufb01dential\n      manner (except where the Company deems it is necessary to disclose\n      information in order to properly deal with the complaint). Staff members\n      will not be victimised or treated unfairly for making a complaint.\n    <\/p>\n    <p><strong>Managers&rsquo; and supervisors&rsquo; roles<\/strong><\/p>\n    <p>\n      Managers and supervisors should also ensure that all staff members\n      understand this Policy and consequences of non-compliance. When managers\n      and supervisors observe harassment, bullying or workplace violence\n      occurring, they should take steps to prevent this conduct from continuing\n      and warn the person or people involved of the consequences if the\n      behaviour continues (including disciplinary measures up to and including\n      termination of employment).\n    <\/p>\n    <p><strong>Staff&rsquo;s Role<\/strong><\/p>\n    <p>The Company expects staff members:<\/p>\n    <ul>\n      <li>Not to engage in harassment, bullying or workplace violence;<\/li>\n      <li>\n        Not to aid, abet or encourage others to engage in harassment, bullying\n        or workplace violence; To behave in a responsible and professional\n        manner;\n      <\/li>\n      <li>Treat others in the workplace with courtesy and respect;<\/li>\n      <li>\n        Listen and respond appropriately to the views and concerns of others;\n        and\n      <\/li>\n      <li>To be fair and honest in their dealings with others.<\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n    <p><strong>Other Measures<\/strong><\/p>\n    <p>\n      The Company also recognises the need for open communication in the\n      workplace. The Company may implement what training it considers necessary\n      in relation to behavioural standards and where appropriate will hold\n      meetings to address standards, expectations and any issues.
